A few showers are possible Wednesday night, but not much. Expect sun by Saturday.
A cool front sliding southward across the North State Wednesday night will combine with moisture that has moved in from the Pacific earlier to generate a few light showers. Don't expect much, however... there just isn't enough moisture available. Mountain snow levels will drop to 3500', but since moisture is fairly limited, expect very light accumulations above 3500'.
Thursday will see a break between storms, and partly cloudy skies. A new storm arrives Friday, but most showers will stay near the Oregon border.
By Saturday, that storm will dig into the Desert Southwest. Combine that with high pressure building in the Pacific Northwest, and that will set up a strong pressure gradient across California, and generate gusty north winds. Expect gusts to 35 mph in the Valley. The winds will relax by Sunday.
Models are now indicating a juicy storm next Wednesday! They've been too strong with long range storms recently, so we'll see how that pans out. Other storms are possible next Friday and Saturday.
