Daily Weather

November rain

It's been a fairly dry November so far... but that's about to change.

Monday started clear and chilly, but finished mild with plenty of sunshine.  Our first storm this week will spread clouds across the North State early Tuesday, and the rain should arrive in the afternoon for the Valley.  Expect around 1/4" in the Valley.  Snow levels will start around 5000', but drop to near 4000' in the evening, then near 3500' by early Wednesday morning... but the storm should be just about done by then.

Wednesday and Thursday look partly cloudy.  Friday will see a bigger storm arrive.  That one has the potential for 1" of Valley rain, with snow levels starting around 4000', and dropping to 3000' by the afternoon... maybe even lower Friday night!  This will be our first big winter-like storm of the season... definitely carry chains if you're heading into the mountains Friday or this weekend.

Another smaller (but still cold) storm should move in Saturday night, but will be gone by Sunday morning.  None of these 3 storms have very strong winds associated with them.

Long range models suggest a break after Saturday night's storm... through about Thanksgiving.  But Friday through Sunday after Thanksgiving look wet, too!

Time to get the umbrellas out!
