There were a few scattered showers Friday... but not many. Expect a totally dry day Saturday before our next storm arrives Sunday.
Saturday will be our 'break' in-between storms. The clouds will hang around, but it should finally be dry. Our next storm arrives Sunday, and models are indicating more rain with it than the previously thought! It might drop 1/2" of rain in the Valley, with lighter amounts expected Monday. This is a warmer storm, so expect snow levels to rise to 3500' in the Sierra, and 3000' in the Siskiyous and Trinity Alps. It also does NOT look like a windy storm... wind gusts should stay under 25 mph.
By Tuesday, a longer break in the rain is in store. We'll be dry from Tuesday through Thursday, with some sun both Wednesday and Thursday. Another storm is due in Friday.
Our local lakes could still use LOTS more rain... as of Friday evening, Lake Oroville was only 48% of average for January 22nd, while Shasta Lake was 76%. So the recent rains have helped a lot... but more is needed to fill them after a few years of drought.
