The Hollywood Bowl comes to Redding as the Riverfront Playhouse Capital

Campaign Committee presents “Theatre Under the Stars”, at the Turtle Bay Amphitheatre on

Saturday, July 11. Proceeds from the event benefit the Riverfront Playhouse Capital Campaign

building project for the state of the art community theatre currently being planned on the corner of Placer and Pine Streets in Downtown Redding. This exclusive, one night only event features the play, Love Letters, a Pulitzer Prize nominated play by A. R. Gurney. The play centers on the characters Melissa and Andrew outlining fifty years of love and heartache through letters written to each other and proves that sometimes memories of roads not taken provide the deepest, sweetest ones of all.  Love Letters stars veteran stage actress Kim Basial, an ARPEE Award winner for Best Actress in a Lead Role and Favorite Character. The play also stars Wade Riggs, whose critically acclaimed performance as “George” in Same Time, Next Year at Riverfront Playhouse earlier this year played to sold-out audiences. Gates open at 6:00 pm with entertainment by the renowned Redding Improv Players at 7:15pm. “Theatre Under  the Stars” is a unique theatre experience while at the same time offering you an opportunity of being an integral part of building our new community theatre. The event is being catered by C.R. Gibbs and will feature live music prior to the show. Tickets are $100.00 per person .  For more information contact Darrell  at 243-7847.
